In the spring, Jonesport comes alive with the blooms of Pussy Willows and the sounds of the hummingbirds in the area. Summer is full of activities, which include the 4th of July Celebration, and the world renowned Lobster Boat Races.
The summer days are warm and enjoyable and the nights are cool and comfortable. The area is also known for the many wild blueberries that cover the barrens area in August. Like much of the rest of Maine, the fall brings the brilliant colors spread through out the forests and meadows in the surrounding area. Due to the close proximity of the community to the ocean, the winters stay fairly mild.
The area boasts many varieties of wildlife including black bear, deer, moose, an occasional cougar sighting, bobcats, foxes, coyotes, bald eagles, beaver, raccoons, porcupines, horned owls, pileated woodpeckers (on the endangered species list), skunks, no poisonous snakes, possibly some wolves, snowshoe hares, and all the lobster you can eat. From Jonesport, you can also take an excursion to see the Puffins.
