- Location: The drive from BGR to Bar Harbor usually takes a little over one hour, but summer traffic can add time to the trip. From the airport take I-95 S a short distance to I-395 E, in the outskirts of Bangor. Take I-395 five miles and merge onto US-1A to Ellsworth. From there follow ME-3 E to Bar Harbor.
- Airlines: Allegiant, Delta, and American Airlines offer direct daily flights to several cities. The top ten cities Bangor International Airport travelers fly to and from are: Orlando, New York City, Tampa, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit and Washington DC. Currently no scheduled international flights leave BGR.

Portland International Airport
Located in South Portland, Maine, the Portland International Jetport offers a small, regional alternative to larger, busier airports.

- Location: The 175-mile trip from the Portland Jetport to Bar Harbor typically takes 3 ¼ hours, but summer traffic may make the drive take longer. From the Jetport take I-295 N, which becomes I-95 N in 50 miles. Follow I-95 N for 80 miles. Take Exit 182A in Bangor and merge onto I-395 E. After 5 miles merge onto US-1A E. In Ellsworth merge onto ME 3E to Bar Harbor.
