Overview
In addition to the hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities, the meticulous lawns and sand traps of the local golf courts available on Mount Desert Island afford the same opportunities to view beautiful scenery and wildlife. Many of the golf courts are famous and historic. One was visited by President Taft nearly a hundred years before the recent visit of President Obama. So if traveling to the island for the scenery or wildlife, the sport and relaxation of 18 holes can give you the best of both worlds when golfing on Mount Desert Island.

Kebo Valley
Kebo Valley, with views of Cadillac and Dorr Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine, is an 18-hole champion Golf Course. Each Hole is designed to be a unique experience. Tee time reservations can be made by calling 207-288-3000, ext 1. Play and stay packages at reduced rates are offered with several local hotels. Northwest Harbor Golf Club
The Northeast Harbor Golf Club boasts of even more secluded beauty. It includes a smaller, 13-hole course surrounded by wooded forests with an additional 5 traditional links-style holes. Tee fees at the Northeast Harbor Golf Club are $25 and up depending on the season and golf package. Causeway Club
The Causeway Club in Southwest Harbor features a nine hole course with views of Norwood Cove, Flying Mountain, Beech Mountain and Acadia Mountain from the grounds. Fees for the Causeway Club start at $15. For fees, lessons, and packages, call the pro shop at 207-244-3780.
Bar Harbor Golf Course
The Bar Harbor Golf Course is off island in Trenton Maine. It features a traditional 18 hole course with moderate fees. Call 207-667-7505 for tee times and rates.
