Blue Hill Falls is a great destination for travelers looking for a quiet night, antique shopping, quality meals and adventures on the ocean. With a variety of shops, restaurants and hotels there are plenty of modern comforts. There are also many options for sailing, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, swimming, cruises, golf and tennis. There are paddling routes that lead you through the nooks and crannies of Blue Hill Bay and the near by islands.

Blue Hill Falls got its name from the rare reversing falls that is created by the tide funneling into a narrow channel. The water forms a standing wave, up to three feet in height. The Falls is safe to run on inner tube, raft, kayak and canoe. Though floaters also have the choice to pull off to the side and watch others ride the wave. Travelers should be aware of the dense ocean fog that can roll into the bay very quickly and makes navigating difficult.
